Inspiring Conversations with Ryan Villogram of Dryy Garment Care

Today we’d like to introduce you to Ryan Villogram.

Hi Ryan, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
My story, well I am not sure you want the novel version so I will fast forward to the last few years.

After leaving the education, I knew I wanted to have more control of my future. After consulting for a few businesses, building recognition and more knowledge, I ran into Ken Sandy. We have mutual connections, so the introduction was seamless and before you know it, we were talking shop at lunch, dinners, all informal, but little did I know he had ulterior motives.

Before I know it, I was collaborating with Ken and Dryy on multiple events and even closing deals with him, which made me start to think that this brand might be where I belong. After a while Ken played his hand and boom, he told me he needed me to be a part of his team. With no hesitation I asked him what he needs from me and his response was “I just need Ryan on this team because you can help me take this brand to heights I can only dream of”. Hearing such strong words from him meant the world to me, so I was sold and now here I am, co-leading a nationally known brand with endless opportunities.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It’s been a fun road, not always smooth. Lol.

Obstacles are not just hindrances; they are crucibles that forge successful businesses. Each challenge, whether it’s a market downturn, a supply chain disruption, or an unexpected competitor, forces entrepreneurs to innovate, adapt, and refine their strategies. The struggle to overcome these hurdles cultivates resilience, sharpens problem-solving skills, and deepens understanding of market dynamics and customer needs. Moreover, successfully navigating difficult periods often reveals hidden strengths, untapped potential, and new opportunities that might have otherwise remained unseen.

We accept all challenges because we are equipped with the mindset to grow because we are not yet at the mountain top!

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
My role entails a myriad of responsibilities which only will help our brand grow throughout our community and globally. My biggest attribute is, but not limited to, getting us inside of rooms that have been closed in the past – this starts through building and maintaining relationships. At the end of the day, we are just a dry cleaner, but it’s the level of relationships that we have that allow us to be a profitable business.

We are a service-based business, and we see ourselves as meeting our constituents where they are, which provides an abundance of convenience to their busy lives. One of my strongest traits is the ability to relate to our customers and listen to our partnerships on how bringing us on can elevate their portfolio. It’s never about us, but about how we can serve Washington, DC! We are not the only dry-cleaning business, nationally, that has a service route, lockers in buildings, and a laundry facility, but where we separate ourselves from others is how we elevate their experience through our social media presence and reimagined retail space. With an enhanced look and touch, our members feel seen and enjoy being a part of this brand – DC is a DRYY city!

What I am most proud of and why I will continue to grow this business, is when I am out in the community and a Dryy member stops and tells me about a story on how one of our staff changed their lives. Those moments just remind me that we have a badass team and every day I can trust that we will always get the job done.

Any big plans?
The future is looking bright for Dryy and we are in a position to take this to the next level, however that may look. What I can tell you now is that we are going to continue serving our members with high quality service, enriched human touch points via stores and delivery service, and making a social impact in our community.
