Today we’d like to introduce you to Lydia.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
My journey with Champagne Quarters, my mobile bar business, has been a long time in the making. I first had the idea and officially formed the LLC back in 2018, but it took me five years to turn that vision into a tangible, working business. Last year was actually my first official year up and running — and it’s been incredibly rewarding. I’ve spent over 13 years in the restaurant industry, and from the moment I learned what bartending was, I was fascinated. Funny enough, I’m not a big drinker myself, but I absolutely love the creativity that goes into crafting cocktails. It’s like art — getting to mix different flavors, making absolutely stunning beverages, and bringing joy to people.
What really drives me is customer service. I genuinely enjoy being part of special events, even if I’m behind the scenes. There’s something so fulfilling about knowing I helped make someone’s celebration smoother or more memorable. And deep down, I’ve always known I wanted to work for myself. Owning this mobile bar is truly a dream come true — it combines my passion for hospitality, creativity, and independence.
My business is called Champagne Quarters, and the name really reflects the heart of what I aim to create. It’s not just a mobile bar — it’s a mobile bar experience. ‘Champagne’ represents the elevated level of service — that touch of luxury, celebration, and attention to detail that makes people feel special. ‘Quarters’ speaks to the space itself — the setting, the vibe, the gathering place where it all happens. But it’s not just a bar; it’s a thoughtfully created experience that brings those two ideas together — a refined, welcoming atmosphere wherever we go. It’s more than serving beverages — it’s about curating moments people will remember long after the party’s over.
And I have to say, I couldn’t have done any of this without my family. From the very beginning, when I came to them with the idea, their response was simply, ‘Okay, how do we get there?’ There was no hesitation, no doubt — just full belief in me and this dream. Their support gave me the confidence to keep going, even when things moved slowly. I’m beyond grateful for them being in my corner every step of the way.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road — but I think that’s true for most entrepreneurs. While building Champagne Quarters, I was working full-time and going to school full-time to finish my degree, which was a challenge in itself. I made a big decision early on to start with a converted horse trailer and invested a lot of my own money into it. Looking back, it might have been easier to start on a smaller scale, but I believed in the vision and wanted to create something that really stood out.
More recently, I was diagnosed with an autoimmune condition, which has added another layer of difficulty. Managing my health while trying to grow a business has been tough — physically, mentally, and emotionally. One of the biggest lessons I’ve learned is that having a dream or a great idea isn’t enough on its own. You have to pour everything into it — your time, your energy, your focus — to really bring it to life. There have definitely been days where I doubted my talent, questioned whether I could do this, and felt overwhelmed by the weight of trying to make it all work. But those challenges have also made every win feel that much more meaningful. I’ve learned that persistence, even when it’s messy, is what keeps a dream moving forward.
We’ve been impressed with Champagne Quarters, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Champagne Quarters is a mobile bar experience. We specialize in providing high-quality, personalized bar services for events, offering everything from crafted cocktails to refreshing mocktails, all designed to fit the theme of the occasion. Whether it’s a wedding, corporate gathering, or private party, we curate the entire experience, from crafting beautiful drinks to creating an inviting atmosphere that leaves a lasting impression.
We’re known for our attention to detail, creativity, and dedication to making every event unique. From signature cocktails that match the theme of an event to our premium service, we want every guest to feel like they’re a part of something truly special. I’m most proud of how far we’ve come since the idea started as just a dream. The name Champagne Quarters itself speaks to the level of service we offer and the moments we’re able to curate — and that’s what I’m most proud of.
I’m also incredibly proud of my 13 years of experience in the restaurant and hospitality industry. Over the years, I’ve learned what it takes to provide exceptional service, and I’ve seen firsthand how customer satisfaction makes or breaks an event. This experience has shaped the way I run Champagne Quarters and has been invaluable in helping me refine the business to deliver the best possible experience to every guest.
What I want your readers to know is that Champagne Quarters is about more than just serving drinks — it’s about creating memorable experiences. We offer a tailored service that makes each event feel personal and sophisticated. From weddings to corporate events to private celebrations, our goal is to elevate any occasion and make it truly unforgettable.
Do you have any advice for those looking to network or find a mentor?
Finding a mentor and building a strong network have been invaluable to me as I’ve grown Champagne Quarters. For me, networking has always been about being genuine and authentic in the connections I make. I’m fortunate that my 13 years of experience in hospitality naturally put me in touch with a wide range of people in the industry. What worked well for me is joining the local Chamber of Commerce and attending various networking events. These have been great opportunities to meet new people, represent my brand, and connect with others who share similar values or experiences. It’s been amazing to see how those connections have turned into long-term relationships that have helped me grow both personally and professionally.
When it comes to finding a mentor, I’ve learned that it’s important to seek out people who inspire you, but also those who are willing to challenge you and provide honest feedback. A great mentor doesn’t just teach you what they’ve done right but helps you navigate the tough spots and learn from mistakes. I’ve been lucky enough to connect with others who are further along in their entrepreneurial journey and who have generously shared their knowledge and experiences with me. I’d recommend looking for mentors who are aligned with your values; however, don’t be afraid to reach out to someone whose path you admire, even if they’re outside your immediate circle.
Networking is about relationships, not just transactions. The more you can show up and add value — whether it’s helping someone with a connection or offering advice based on your own experiences — the stronger your network will become. Stay curious, stay humble, and always be open to learning.
