Today we’d like to introduce you to Reynaldo (Eden) Saenz.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
My love for music began at a very young age. I was born in El Salvador and raised by my grandparents until I was about eleven. My parents had to migrate to the United States in search of better opportunities for my two brothers and me. Growing up in a third-world country—especially in the late ’90s—was a completely different experience. Life was tough, and being without my parents made it even harder.
That’s when music became more than just sound—it became my escape. Surrounded by poverty and gang violence, I found comfort in music. It helped me process feelings of sadness and depression, and filled the emotional void left by my parents’ absence. I still remember sitting quietly near my neighbor’s door just to listen to the music playing from inside their home. In those moments, I felt peace.
Fast forward ten years. At 21, a coworker introduced me to a local DJ and manager who played at bars in Baltimore. When he asked if I’d ever thought about becoming a DJ, I didn’t hesitate. Two weeks later—with little to no experience—I found myself behind the decks at a sold-out New Year’s Eve party. That night changed everything. The moment I connected with the crowd through music, I knew this wasn’t just a hobby. It was my calling.
That night was the beginning of DJ Edenz.
Since then, I’ve had the privilege of performing for pro athletes, opening shows for celebrity DJs, and being part of some of the biggest festivals, clubs, and bars in Baltimore. Every time I step behind the decks, I carry with me the kid who once sat outside a neighbor’s door just to hear a song. Music saved me—and now, I get to share that gift with others.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
My journey as both a DJ and a person has been anything but easy. I’ve faced more than my share of obstacles—some deeply personal, others professional. I’ve lost childhood friends to gang violence, and for years, I’ve walked a tightrope between my passion for music and the responsibility of providing for my family. Balancing a demanding nightlife career with a full-time day job hasn’t just tested my endurance—it’s tested my spirit.
There have been sacrifices. Real ones. Moments where I’ve had to miss out on family time—holidays, birthdays, and milestones that mattered—times when I felt like I was falling short as a husband and father. All the while, I was chasing a dream that refuses to let me go—and truthfully, I refuse to let it go either. And yes, there were days when I questioned whether I could keep going—when the weight of it all felt too heavy, and the balance too hard to maintain.
People often see the DJ—the energy, the lights, the crowd—and assume it’s all fun and music. But behind the scenes, it’s a grind. It’s hours spent organizing music libraries, sourcing and editing tracks, designing promotional material, handling bookings, and pushing your brand. It’s staying up until dawn working gigs, only to wake up a few hours later for your day job. There are weeks when four hours of sleep a night is considered a luxury.
What I’ve learned through it all is that consistency is everything—and mindset is key. Even with years of experience under my belt, staying mentally strong and creatively inspired is a constant challenge. But I keep pushing because I believe in what I do. I believe in the power of music, in the power of storytelling through sound. And I believe that this path—however difficult—is the one I was meant to walk.
There will always be new obstacles ahead. That’s the nature of life. But what keeps me grounded is persistence, faith in a higher power, and an unwavering commitment to my dreams. Because dreams are the one thing in life that are truly ours. They don’t cost a thing—but they’re worth everything. And as long as you’re still breathing, they’re still alive.
Believe that—and anything is possible.
Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about DJ Edenz/Me,Myself & Music Ent?
As a DJ and entertainer, I’m not the type to simply follow trends or play whatever’s hot at the moment. I’m the DJ who drops the tracks you didn’t even know you wanted to hear—the ones that surprise you, move you, and stick with you long after the night ends. My goal is to craft sets that stand out and leave a lasting impression, creating a vibe that keeps people coming back every time I play.
I provide high-quality entertainment for all types of events—from corporate functions and private parties to weddings, sweet 16s, quinceañeras, and more. And of course, I thrive in the high-energy environments of festivals, bars, lounges, and nightclubs. For me, every performance is more than just a gig—it’s a chance to connect with the crowd, read the room, and deliver an energy that makes the day or night unforgettable.
What quality or characteristic do you feel is most important to your success?
What truly sets me apart as a DJ is that I’m more than just someone who plays crowd favorites. My love for music runs deep and spans across genres, and I take pride in truly knowing the music I play—inside and out. I’m not just mixing tracks; I’m creating an atmosphere. Every set is thoughtfully crafted to resonate with the crowd in a unique way.
Professionalism is at the core of everything I do. I show up on time, come fully prepared, and prioritize clear, respectful communication with clients, event organizers, fellow artists, and DJs. But above all, it’s my passion for music that drives me. The energy I bring to every performance is what keeps the crowd engaged and connected. For me, DJing isn’t just about the performance—it’s about building trust and long-lasting relationships with everyone I work with.
I’m constantly learning, experimenting, and pushing myself to grow—not just as a DJ, but as a person. The long nights, the challenges, the technical setbacks—they’re all part of the journey. And they fuel my determination. Over the years, I’ve learned how to stay resilient, navigate pressure with grace, and continue evolving. DJing isn’t just a job to me—it’s my passion, my purpose, and the path I’m fully committed to.
