Check Out Shervon Branch’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Shervon Branch.

Hi Shervon, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
Growing up in Baltimore, the pervasive presence of hypertension, stroke, and aneurysm within my family from a young age sparked an early interest in the origins of disease. Observing their reliance on medication without a resolution of underlying issues fueled my skepticism towards the idea that chronic illness was purely hereditary. My own experiences highlighted the significant role of diet and lifestyle.

My initial enthusiasm for the pharmaceutical industry, where I learned about the risk-benefit ratio of medications – often revealing how treating one problem could create others while neglecting root causes – ultimately propelled me towards integrative health. My introduction to functional health through the Institute of Integrative Nutrition and a transformative 90-minute consultation opened my eyes. Simple dietary changes led to significant improvements, including the resolution of lifelong seasonal allergies. This underscored my conviction that targeting the root cause empowers the body’s innate ability to heal.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
The path is challenging, marked by a prevalence of misinformation surrounding health and wellness. Our healthcare model often functions as a “”sick care”” system, where there are more opportunities to become unhealthy than to achieve wellness. We live in a culture that often positions physicians as the sole authorities on health. My primary challenge has been building confidence, as I am not a doctor, and my business operates in a domain where doctors are traditionally considered the experts. Consequently, the response, “”My doctor said,”” has presented a significant hurdle. The truth is, my work isn’t about competing with doctors; rather, it’s about enhancing a client’s overall healthcare experience and relationship with their physician.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
With over 25 years of experience in the biopharmaceutical industry, my entry into quality assurance was unexpected, yet my continued commitment is driven by a profound sense of responsibility to ensure the utmost safety of every product. I approach my work daily with the awareness that someone I care for might rely on the therapeutics produced. My career has largely involved internal and external process auditing, requiring meticulous attention to detail and robust problem-solving skills. I excel at the thorough investigation, root cause analysis, and resolution of issues.

I am most proud of my leadership abilities, striving to be the supportive and empowering leader I once needed as an individual contributor. I am dedicated to fostering the growth of my team through servant leadership.

What distinguishes me is my ability to connect with people on a deeper level, coupled with my unwavering faith in The Most High. I integrate these principles into every interaction, viewing my role as a sacred trust and endeavoring to honor that trust in all my actions.

Before we let you go, we’ve got to ask if you have any advice for those who are just starting out?
My advice for anyone who is just starting out is to embrace the journey. You’ll learn as you progress; you don’t need to have all the answers at the outset. Seek out a community of like-minded individuals who can offer encouragement and support.
