Hi Devin GMD Dev, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I started off with music at a young age—it was my first love and the way I expressed myself. Over time, that passion grew into something real, and I began recording, performing, and eventually releasing full projects. Music opened the door to my creative side, and from there, I expanded into filmmaking. I started writing and producing my own independent films, which are now available on platforms like Tubi and Amazon Prime. The titles include (Decisions 1 & 2 & Don’t Trust)
At the same time, I got into real estate, helping families and individuals in Maryland find homes and build generational wealth. That business side of me also led to the relaunch of my clothing brand, GMD—Global Minded Demeanor—which represents everything I stand for: hustle, elevation, and purpose.
Now, everything I do is connected—my music, my films, my real estate business, and my clothing line. I’ve built a brand that reflects my journey and gives back to the people who support it. Still climbing, still growing. I have two kids Egypt and Devin who take after me both being talented and both are little actor & actresses theirselves.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It’s been a road full of highs and lows. Baltimore is a popular city with a lot of voices, but sometimes being different means you get pushed aside. As GMD Dev, I’ve performed on major stages with big-name artists and promoters. My films Decisions 1, Decisions 2, and Don’t Trust were shown in theaters before hitting platforms like Tubi and Amazon Prime. My latest film Leonard is currently in post-production. I’ve worn every hat—actor, director, writer, and producer.
One of the biggest struggles has been finding media outlets that truly support talent and not just take from artists. Around here, there aren’t many real platforms where creatives can be seen and heard unless they fit a certain mold.
Still, I stay focused. As GMD Dev, I keep pushing creatively. And as Dev The Realtor, I’ve helped over 150 families buy and sell homes—which has truly changed lives. Whether it’s music, movies, or real estate, I’m building something solid and lasting.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I do a lot, but everything I do ties back to creativity, impact, and ownership. I’m an independent artist under the name GMD Dev, a filmmaker, a clothing brand owner, and a full-time licensed realtor in Maryland. What I’m most known for is my ability to wear multiple hats—writing, directing, acting, and producing movies like Decisions 1 & 2, Don’t Trust, and now Leonard. My music speaks real life—raw, honest, and different from what’s trending, but still relatable.
As Dev The Realtor, I’ve helped over 150 families buy and sell homes, and that’s something I’m extremely proud of. Real estate allowed me to impact lives off-camera and outside the studio. That’s honestly the bigger side of what I do. I love it and that’s my main business.
What sets me apart is my versatility. I’m not one-dimensional—I’m building a brand that touches film, music, fashion, and real estate, all while staying authentic. Everything I do is original, rooted in passion, and built from the ground up. I don’t chase trends—I create from experience and vision. Each part of me has its own story.
Can you share something surprising about yourself?
Well when I started Real Estate and quit my job I didn’t have a sale for 7 months! I started as a failure and ended up turning into a realtor who thrives off genuinely helping. As a movie producer I never went to school I kind of was self taught on scripts, location management, and acting. As an artist and clothing line creator GMD currently stands for Global Minded Demeanor it used to be Getmoneydummiez but we had to level up! lol
