Exploring Life & Business with Treanna Miles of Tre Extensions

Today we’d like to introduce you to Treanna Miles.

Hi Treanna, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I’m someone who knew nothing about makeup, didn’t wear lashes, and couldn’t do hair. I was working in housekeeping at Good Samaritan Hospital when they offered a CNA class. I signed up immediately because I knew I wanted more for myself.

Not long after that, I saw someone offering a lash training course. I bet on myself and signed up—turns out, I was good at it. I got certified in 2018 and started doing lashes out of my mom’s house. At first, I was doing them for free just to practice, then I started charging $35.

Eventually, I began working as a CNA at Union Memorial on the CVICU unit. I was working three 12-hour shifts at the hospital, and doing lashes the other four days. It was exhausting, but I stayed consistent. I got my first suite, and from there, everything took off.

I remember having just one client a month—or none at all—but I never stopped promoting myself and practicing. Now, I service over 100 clients. Many of them have become like family. The support I’ve received is incredible, and I’ve connected with some of the best business owners and loyal clients along the way.

The clients who started with me have grown with me. I’ve grown too—personally and professionally. This journey has taught me so much about discipline, faith, and staying locked in on my vision. I’m proud of how far I’ve come, and I’m just getting started.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It hasn’t been all smooth. When I got pregnant with my son, I was no longer working at the hospital—I had fully transitioned to doing lashes full-time by 2020–2021. During my pregnancy, I was extremely sick and had to stop lashing for two months. It hurt to cancel on clients, especially since I had worked so hard to build consistency.

Once I started feeling better, I jumped right back into hustle mode and worked as much as I could—up until I physically couldn’t anymore. Becoming a first-time mom and doing it alone was a huge adjustment. My son was constantly sick during his first year, and I had to close my books, take time off, or reschedule clients. That was hard for me, because I never wanted to seem unprofessional or unreliable.

But I’m so grateful for the clients who understood and stuck it out with me. Some of them are still with me to this day. Even now, there are days my son comes to the shop with me when school is closed. I’m truly thankful for the process—it’s made me stronger, more patient, and more appreciative of where I am now.

We all have a different way of looking at and defining success. How do you define success?
To me, success means knowing I’ve made a real difference. It’s not about the numbers on a receipt or fancy accolades—it’s about seeing my clients leave with a genuine smile and a renewed sense of confidence. Success is in those quiet moments when someone tells me they feel more like themselves after a visit. It’s about staying true to my passion for beauty, innovation, and personalized care, whether I’m perfecting a lash style or preparing to introduce airbrush eyebrows.

Every new technique, every client connection, and every opportunity to learn and teach reminds me that success is a journey of continuous growth—both for my business and myself. It’s those authentic, everyday triumphs that truly define success for me.
