Daily Inspiration: Meet MIGGS

Today we’d like to introduce you to MIGGS

Hi MIGGS, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
Music has always been a part of me, but my journey to where I am today has been anything but typical. I grew up in Texas, and started playing in the Live Music Capitol of the world, Austin. I soaked up the sounds of country, rock, and everything in between. My love for playing music and live performances started there, but life took me down a different path for a while—I served in the United States Air Force, which gave me discipline, resilience, and a deep appreciation for hard work.

Even while serving, music was always in the background, and when I transitioned out, I knew it was time to go all in. I started writing, recording, and playing anywhere I could, from small bars to bigger festival stages. Over time, I built a band, developed a full-production live show, and kept grinding to grow my audience.

Now, I’m proud to say my music is reaching more people, and the best part is hearing fans sing my lyrics back to me at shows. It’s a surreal feeling to see something that started as a personal story become a shared experience. There have been plenty of ups and downs, but every challenge has pushed me forward, and I wouldn’t trade this road for anything.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road, but I think that’s part of what makes the journey worthwhile. Music is one of those careers where there’s no set path—you have to carve it out yourself, and that comes with a lot of challenges. Balancing my passion for songwriting and performing with the business side of things, like booking gigs, promoting myself, and handling production, has been a learning process.

There have been times when I’ve played to small crowds and I have been the background music. I have dealt with cancellations, or had to navigate the ups and downs of the being a musician. On top of that, transitioning from my time in the Air Force to civilian life- whilst building a family and chasing music has been a big shift. But every struggle has made me more determined. The key has been staying focused, surrounding myself with good people, and remembering why I started—because I love creating and entertaining people through music.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I’m a country singer-songwriter based in Maryland, but my roots run deep in Texas, where I first started playing music under the city lights of Austin. My sound blends country and southern rock, and I focus on storytelling—bringing real, relatable experiences to life through my lyrics. Whether it’s a high-energy festival set or an intimate acoustic show, I want my music to make people feel something.

I specialize in delivering a full-band experience, handling everything from performance to production, including lights, sound, and merch. What sets me apart is my ability to connect with an audience—not just through the songs, but through the energy and authenticity I bring to every show. Coming from a military background, I also bring a strong work ethic and a deep appreciation for the opportunities I’ve had.

The proudest part of my journey has been releasing my own music and hearing people sing my lyrics back to me at every show. There’s nothing like that moment when you realize your songs have become a part of someone else’s story. Knowing that something I wrote resonates with people and brings them together is what makes all the hard work worth it.

Networking and finding a mentor can have such a positive impact on one’s life and career. Any advice?
Networking in the music industry is all about building real relationships, not just making connections for the sake of it. My best advice is to be genuine—support other artists, show up to local shows, and engage with the community. You never know where a conversation might lead.

For me, one of the biggest keys has been simply putting myself out there—whether it’s reaching out to venues, collaborating with other musicians, or staying active on social media. I’ve learned that opportunities often come from unexpected places, so staying open and willing to learn from others is huge.

When it comes to finding a mentor, I think it’s less about asking someone to be your mentor outright and more about surrounding yourself with people who inspire you. I’ve been lucky to meet musicians and industry pros who’ve shared valuable lessons just through casual conversations and shared experiences. The best mentors lead by example, and I’ve picked up so much just by being around people who are further along in their journey.

At the end of the day, work ethic and authenticity go a long way. If you’re serious, put in the work, and stay true to yourself, the right people will take notice.
