Daily Inspiration: Meet Carlus McCormick II

Today we’d like to introduce you to Carlus McCormick II

Hi Carlus , so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
My journey in the entertainment and media industry began in 2009 under the alias “Your Favorite Manager” (Y.F.M.). As a talent manager and event coordinator for W.A.S.T.E. Entertainment, I worked closely with industry professionals, building connections across the East Coast and helping shape creative movements.

As my career progressed, I discovered a new passion—visual storytelling. Picking up a camera, I launched WASTE TV, marking my transition into the world of media production. By 2011, I had expanded from music videos to clubs and event videography, establishing myself as a force in the industry.

The 2020 pandemic became a defining moment for my career, leading to the birth of YFM Media Network. This shift allowed me to refine my craft as a camera operator, editor, and storyteller, broadening my focus beyond entertainment to include corporate media, small business branding, and documentary production. Through this evolution, I’ve been able to craft compelling narratives and bring impactful stories to life.

Throughout my career, I’ve had the privilege of collaborating with renowned organizations and industry leaders, including:

The National Press Club
The State Department
Events DC
The American News Women’s Club
Du Plain Enterprises
W.A.S.T.E. Entertainment
Radio One
Neo Tech Media

The United Nations
DCN Entertainment

Mike Tyson
From talent management to media production, my journey has been defined by growth, adaptability, and relentless creativity. I remain committed to capturing powerful stories and producing impactful content that resonates. Stay tuned as I continue sharing insights and experiences from my path in the industry.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
The challenges and obstacles I encountered while working with a diverse range of individuals have shaped my journey as a Director of Photography and camera operator. One of the biggest hurdles was developing the ability to think quickly on my feet, adapting to fast-paced environments, and mastering the business side of video production.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
Honored to receive the US Presidential Volunteer Service Award 2023 for impactful media production contributions spanning across the United States of America. Grateful for the opportunity to serve and make a positive impact through storytelling and creativity.

What makes you happy?
My beautiful daughter and being a positive role model for her in the community.
