Meet Brent Zimmerman of Good Good Coffee

Today we’d like to introduce you to Brent Zimmerman

Hi Brent, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
My wife, Kyrie, was running events for homeschooling mothers that would gather monthly for support, learning and building community. She was looking for a way to have specialty coffee at these events, but no one was offering the experience she was looking for. Coffee carts like ours existed in other metro areas, but not in central Pennsylvania. So we decided it seemed like a great opportunity to start one in our market.

While we were quite experienced at DRINKING good coffee, neither one of us had any experience MAKING it. So I dug deep into researching espresso making, milk frothing, and menu and recipe building. After purchasing the equipment, we took a few months to dial everything in, then had our first event at a bridal show in 2022.

The growth has been incredible since that first event. We started out needing to say “yes” to everything, which yielded quite a few money-losing events. But we got our name out there and grew very quickly, to the point where I was able to leave my day job at the end of 2023. Our growth has almost been entirely by word-of-mouth. We are excited to continue growing in 2025 with some new menu offerings, a new camper for serving cold-brew on tap, and a new look to our branding and website.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
For the most part, I would say it has been a pretty smooth and enjoyable road. When we first started, we took any event we could get into. This meant that for quite a few events we didn’t make enough money to pay for our ingredients, let alone our time. But I think perspective is really important, especially early on when getting started. Obviously, there will be growing pains. Keeping the perspective of WHEN they happen, not IF they happen is helpful when starting a business. While there were some events that maybe didn’t pay the best, they were still opportunities to network, hone in our processes and recipes, and still make some great coffee. In the beginning I think we were good at seeing the silver lining, learning from our mistakes, and making changes when necessary.

Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
