Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I have always been interested in photography but never thought it would be something I would explore. I spent many years pursuing my education, working professionally, and after I got married and had my first child, I started searching for a creative outlet. My husband encouraged me to try photography. He purchased a camera as a gift for me, and the rest was history. I have been a newborn, milestone, family, and portrait photographer for over 9 years. It has been sometimes hard but a wonderful journey. It has been a blessing to watch families grow and capture memories that will last a lifetime. Today, I am still nurturing this creative outlet turned business, prioritizing family, and exploring other creative opportunities through wellness and fitness activities.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Honestly, it has not always been an easy road. Trying to balance family life and meet the demands and needs of other families can be tough. It has required a lot long days photographing clients and late nights editing images to ensure that I give my clients my best. As my own family has grown, I have had to adjust how much time I am able to give to the business.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
Over the years, I specialized in newborn, milestone, maternity, and family photography. I primarily take on milestone sessions (6 months to 5 years old).
What sets me apart is that each session is customized to themes selected by clients.
I am most proud of how much my skillset has grown over the years. I am self-taught, so I have had to do a lot of learning to grow. I am also proud of my ability to balance photography, family life, and other life aspirations.
What do you like best about our city? What do you like least?
I love the city, there is so much to do and explore. I love coming with friends and family to the outdoor events that take place during the summer and Christmas season.
