Today we’d like to introduce you to Mackenzie Norris
Hi Mackenzie, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
After two years attending Morgan State University as a Nursing major, I started to acknowledge my love for fashion, beauty and various forms of art from visual paintings to nail art. There was a drastic change that I felt called to make from Nursing to Focusing on creative entrepreneurship. I know crazy, right? I thought so too, I mean it was a big step. Although, I’ve always loved dressing up and getting expressive long nails with loud colors, then of course, capturing the moment with a picture. So it got me thinking, why not? why not be bold and do what I really loved ?
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
This journey has not been smooth and I did not expect it to be. I had so many fears and worries, wondering How? Even though I always thought about this as a child, I had no experience or knowledge on where to start. During this time, all I could do was pray to God to navigate through this. He advised me to trust in him and the plan that he has for not only me, everyone. I knew then that I had to just take the leap, start small and allow myself to embrace this path for it to grow.

I am Creative entrepreneur pursuing fashion, beauty and art. I attended beauty school during the summer of 2024, which helped me gain some insight on this “new world”. I then created my business page, Fit Alchemist, to begin launching my Fashion styling and Creative direction brand. This pushed me to try out for a modeling team at Morgan State named Fashion at Morgan, where I became a member in fall 2024. I been granted opportunities for multiple photo shoots with talented photographers in the Baltimore area who helped me showcase my bold, unique personality. All the different hair colors, crazy nail sets and out of the box outfits-fun or colorful is how I would describe myself and that’s what the world needs to see.
Is there something surprising that you feel even people who know you might not know about?
I don’t know about surprising but I would love to share a few fun facts about myself. On my free time, I enjoy painting and coloring while watching old cartoons or badly singing and dancing in my room. I like reading, making pottery and laughing at silly things.
