Exploring Life & Business with Sean Digiorgio of Teddy Bear Wedding Productions

Today we’d like to introduce you to Sean Digiorgio

Hi Sean, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
Straight out of High School, I immediately tried to get as much experience as possible. I was lucky enough to have my first on-set experience that following summer (Summer of 2022), it was a massive set as my first, but I fell in love with the process. After that, it inspired me to get up and make my first short film. From there, me and my friend Lucas Sanchez decided that we needed a name to put all of our movies under, and we came up with Teddy Bear Wedding. Since then, we have continued working on as many film sets as possible all-the-while creating our own films when we have the time, and making those sets be as close to the real deal as possible both for our own growth, and for the growth of artists around us.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
A lot of the struggle has been from the fact that we are always learning. Every single project we do is for the purpose of expanding our experience and knowledge of the craft. But…this comes with a lot of trial and error. It’s never gonna not be terrifying to see if months of planning a film is gonna come together or fall apart. There is a constant thought that we could be doing this wrong, or the next steps we take could be sending us backwards. We are taking risks in how big are steps are, but we try to take on those challenges head on with the guidance of our professional friends. We could not do what we do without people like Tristan Corrigan, Michael Tuthill, Eduardo Sanchez, etc who are helping us navigate these early stages of the business.

We’ve been impressed with Teddy Bear Wedding Productions, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Teddy Bear Wedding Productions is an indie film and production company in the DMV area. As we grow our work, we try to grow those around us. We believe that collaboration and experience are extremely important when it comes to making a movie. We try to include a wide variety of people on our sets from professionals who can guide the process, and students who may just want an on-set experience for the first time! Being able to spread the experiences that I have had so far in the beginning of my career is something that we strive for. Additionally, we try to flip the term “student film” on its head. All of us who run Teddy Bear Wedding are current college students, but we don’t make student films. We want to make films that are on par with professional production companies. Whether that is from the on-set experience, to how we shoot, to how we edit, we want our process to be as close to the real deal as possible. And we take great pride in creating that environment and those films.
