Today we’d like to introduce you to Jasmine Ferrell
Hi Jasmine, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I started my brand Jass B Cooking in 2023 out of pure curiosity for the intriguing culinary talent that I have. Cooking has always been a interesting hobby of mine that I started to pursue when I was very young. When all of the other kids would be playing a game or watching the only tv we had in our home growing up , I would always be the one in the kitchen asking questions about the ingredients being put in our meals prepared by my mother or grandmother. Eventually , I grew older and started to have a love for preparing and tweaking recipes myself. Being a chef for my brand is very rewarding to me because I understand the importance of how food not only brings people together but the most important part, how it brings family’s together.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
The only struggles i’ve had as a new chef is being consistent as far as making new content and showing up for my business everyday. Trying to toggle between social media, family , other endeavors and reality can take a toll on any new business owner.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
My business specializes in catering or in other words , preparing large assortments of foods for events and gatherings. We are known for our delicious gouda mac and cheese and my customers favorite , our banana pudding ! It is such a delight to experience. I’m most proud of my ability to get my customers what they need for their events in a professional, timely manner. What sets Jass B Cooking apart from the others ? Living in the DMV metro area , in my opinion, there is a lack of that “southern” touch especially when it comes to the hospitality and food. Being from southern Virginia , I have acquired skills and techniques not familiar to a lot of the customers I serve.
In terms of your work and the industry, what are some of the changes you are expecting to see over the next five to ten years?
Jass B Cooking has plans to expand in the near future and we hope our customers stay tuned to figure out how !
