Daily Inspiration: Meet Emmett Saraceni

Today we’d like to introduce you to Emmett Saraceni

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
My name is Lovesik. I’m a music artist based Lancaster PA. I began making music 7 years ago. When I was in highschool I really started connecting with music, from there I became interested in the process of making music from the production, to lyric writing, mixing, mastering etc. Shortly after I began making music however I lost most of the hearing in my left ear due to a disease called cholesteatoma. This was a setback but I was able to get a hearing aid and didn’t waiver in my pursuit to make music. After highschool I entered the music program at Millersville University and through my 4 years of college I was able to hone my craft and truly start making things that I was proud of. My first project called “Kids of the Coast” was an introduction into making a cohesive body of work, it was also my first time writing lyrics and singing over my own tracks. My second project called “Where Flowers Bloom” was a way for me to introduce live instrumentation and collaboration into my music. None of my achievements could’ve happened without the support of my family and the friends I’ve made along the way. I’m excited to share what next for “Lovesik” as it is unlike anything I’ve released before. I’ve made it a point to never settle into just one genre so I hope you stay tuned for the next chapter.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It definitely isn’t always smooth but thats what makes it fun. I’m very lucky to have the support of those close to me so that keeps me grounded when things get tough. However, when I first began making music I had no background knowledge of anything so I started from square one. I would spend hours on youtube looking at tutorials on how to work my DAW, I would try to learn how to play music by ear and fail countless times. It was extremely satisfying when I would reach different milestones in my production though. Through dedication, countless hours of trial and error and help from my friends I am now confident in my ability to make music but I am always learning. Another thing that has been tough is my hearing loss in my left ear. It leaves uncertainty behind my mixing capabilities at times but I have learned to use it to my advantage and I hope that I can inspire others to chase what they love to do despite any obstacles that cross their path.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I specialize in Djing, and music production. My most well known track is called “Falling into Love”. It was a quick song I made many years ago but I think it spoke to people as it has 6 million plays on Spotify. I love that my music speaks to people and I just hope that my upcoming projects continue to make people feel something. I’m most proud of my ability to switch genres, I’ve always been passionate about keeping things different so I have made it a point to make multiple genres like EDM, RnB, Indie, orchestral and more. I think what sets me apart as a creative is my drive and ability to learn. Music is just something that is a part of so my expression comes out of my songs in an authentic way, I hope that people can feel it and connect with it when they listen.

We’d love to hear about how you think about risk taking?
I think risk taking is crucial. I was a very shy kid and I am slowly growing out of that. Music has allowed me to take risks especially in the performances I have done. There’s been many times I have agreed to do something that I was not 100% positive I could do. But saying yes is the first step, rising to the occasion is how I feel confident to take more risks in the future. Now as I grow as an artist I have been putting myself out there and trying to make opportunities for myself. I have failed and occasionally embarrassed myself in the process but making mistakes and failing truly is the best teacher.
