Rising Stars: Meet Zach Moore of Pasadena

Today we’d like to introduce you to Zach Moore

Hi Zach, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I was drafted by the Florida Marlins in 2008 in the MLB player draft out of Dundalk Community College. Played 2.5 years in Minor League Baseball and had a heart condition come up.
Retired and Started Coaching back at Dundalk community college and realized I really loved doing that.
I was also doing a little bit of Video game streaming on Twitch, and a friend told me with my passion for baseball, I needed to start a Youtube Channel and talk about baseball.

I put that off for a long time, but finally this time last year I decided to start a Youtube Channel and talk about the Orioles and Baseball in General.
PigTownSports was born on Youtube. I then branched out onto Twitter and Tiktok. I love talking the game of baseball with other fans and people who just love the sport of baseball. Its been comforting being able to stay involved with the game I love, even though I can no longer play it at a high level.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Youtube is a grind, you spend plenty of hours making videos, for minimal views in the beginning.
Thats the biggest struggle when being a content creator, just telling yourself the long haul is worth it.

The beginning is so hard and mentally draining, that many people give up before their break happens.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
Right now I make video content on the Baltimore Orioles.
Youtube long form videos about the team, players and minor league players.
I also do short form content on YT and Tiktok.

Im a big stat nerd too, I like to talk stats on Twitter with other baseball fans.

Im proud I stuck with this, its not easy, and theres always people out there to criticize you, but in the end if you enjoy it (which I do) then its worth it.

What sets me apart from others is having the experience of playing the game at a high level, knowing some of the techniques and game plans the players go through and also coaching in the collegiate level.

Where do you see things going in the next 5-10 years?
I see myself continuing to cover the Orioles, maybe still just on my youtube channel, but maybe some place bigger like MASN or whatever the Orioles have by then.
The biggest shift is going to be as the following gets larger, having to stay consistent to continually grow on the platform
