Daily Inspiration: Meet Nicole Hennessy

Today we’d like to introduce you to Nicole Hennessy.

Nicole Hennessy

Thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, how did you get started?
My life has been full of waves that often felt like I would drown. From teen pregnancy, abusive relationships, family struggles, addiction, and sexual abuse, I faced many challenges. Living in survival mode, I was trying to get through each day. Despite having friends and family who loved me, I often felt very alone, especially after moving to Hong Kong and across the country.

Starting my own healing journey, I realized I never had a phase of life focused on myself. I was always either a child or raising one. In a stable relationship, I finally had the space to heal, understand my behaviors and triggers, and learn how to cope. Once I felt stronger, I began sharing my story on social media, hoping to connect with others. I’ve always been an open book, believing that sharing our struggles can help others heal. When we learn about others’ struggles, we realize our own are valid and not alone.

Inspired by my online connections, I became a certified life coach. Three years ago, I started creating spaces for women to come together and hosting retreats along the East Coast. Since then, I’ve hosted seven retreats and countless monthly events, witnessing these spaces’ profound connections and personal growth.

One thing people are missing is genuine connections. Friendship is as essential as water to me. Having someone who accepts all your mess and beauty without judgment is crucial but often hard to find. In the spaces I’ve created, this level of acceptance is the norm, and judgment holds no space. My ultimate goal is to make every space feel as natural and accepting as at The Hennessy’s House. This journey has been about building my village and helping countless women heal and form supportive networks.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Do smooth roads exist? I have the wrong map! Yes, there are struggles, and there are still struggles! Life can throw many waves at us, and we must learn to swim. I have watched my daughter go through teen pregnancy, which has been a hard journey both as a mother to her and as someone who lived that life. My husband is an alcoholic, and we have faced relapses and struggles that I wasn’t sure we would survive. However, we are now closer than ever, and it has been an honor to watch my daughter raise her son. Professionally, I love what I do, but it is challenging. I create exceptional experiences, but getting people to invest in themselves takes a lot of work. My audience is women, often mothers, who want to value themselves and connect with others. It’s my job to convince women to invest in themselves, even when they don’t feel worthy. The irony is that these women need this the most, but they often don’t think they deserve it. If that sounds like you, please know you deserve this.

I appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
The Hennessy’s House LLC is an umbrella of women empowerment. Through it, I help people see themselves as beautiful through photography, aid in internal healing and growth through coaching, retreats, wellness events, and, with my sister company Stellar Strategies, assist business owners in marketing and growing their dream businesses on social media. My holistic approach combines creativity and wellness to foster growth and connection. Yes, that sounds like a lot, but the truth is this. I strive to empower others to live their most authentic, beautiful life. My journey through significant challenges sets me apart, which means I know struggles. I am not telling others to get over them; I am showing them they can grow through them. The one thing that used to be the source of my imposter syndrome is the part I love most: I am not your typical wellness girly. Yes, I meditate and have a million crystals, but I also believe that sometimes we must let loose and have fun. Make jokes, sing karaoke (badly), dance to good music, and laugh until we cry. I value peace, stillness, and breathwork, but I’m also going to tell you that your butt looks good in those jeans and dare you to jump in the ocean naked. This profound wellness and playful fun balance helps create a unique and genuine community.

Before we go, is there anything else you can share with us?
Yes, if you feel like your life right now is not what you hope for, start today by working towards the life you want. Make an attainable action plan and list one simple change you can make today to get you on that path. You deserve to be happy. It’s always possible to take the first step toward your dreams. Remember, small changes can lead to significant transformations, and you have the power to create the life you envision for yourself. If you are in the DMV area, please join my monthly women’s circle. I host a retreat on the East Coast every April and November, with some others sprinkled in between. Join my email list to stay in the loop. I can not wait to meet you and tell you, your butt looks great in those jeans.
