Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I started Award Winning Bodies in 2021 after I went through a cosmetic procedure myself and went through various obstacles on my road to recovery. It was very tough and my health was compromised. It was during my recovery that I felt the need to become a Post op care Specialist to help spread awareness about different cosmetic surgery procedures and the road to recovery because the media well social media to be exact make these surgery procedures seem very simple and that is not the case. Some people end up losing their lives due to lack of awareness and on a lighter note they don’t get the results they have hoped for. Most don’t realize that even though the surgeries elective they are still indeed major surgeries that causes a lot of trauma to the body and it takes a significant amount of time to recover.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Well funding was a major issue to start my business. I sold my home in Baltimore City to use the funds to take proper training, buy equipment, lease space,and marketing. Speaking of marketing it’s tough you go into business thinking you’re going to be able to just start making money without realizing it takes money to make money. Especially in my case because I’m not to found of social media which a lot of entrepreneurs use to market their business. I’m still trying to figure certain algorithms and seo strategies to be discovered. I also am grateful to have a partner a home who has been fully supporting me along the way without him I would have not been able to get this far in such a small amount of time. I specialize in affordable high quality post op care. What sets me apart is I go over and beyond for my clients. I always put safety before everything. I stress the need for everyone to take care of their bodies beforehand. I give out nutritional advice. I educate everyone on how the surgeries are carried out. I tell everyone about the risks involve and I prepare them for any cosmetic procedure. I keep up with popular surgeons work and credentials. I offer emotional support. I actually care about everyone who is interested in the surgeries whether they use my business or not. I love what I do! I’m never upset to go to work anymore lol! I love to help women and men improve their look which ultimately boost their self confidence which improves their lives. I know I’m definitely making a difference in people’s lives now. I now have a sense of purpose as well.
If we knew you growing up, how would we have described you?
I was definitely eccentric outgoing and creative. I was an art student most of my life. I studied Theatre Arts from middle school to my entirety of highschool and some electives in college. I was the wild one always kind of happy go lucky person. I’m also a former Paralegal Studies student I got all the way to my internship to realize I hate paperwork lol go figure
