Hidden Gems: Meet Larissa Assam of RopheMD

Today, we’d like to introduce you to Larissa Assam.

Larissa Assam

Thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
Absolutely. I was born and raised in Cameroon, where she was called into medicine at age seven after my father was involved in a ghastly car accident, and the passion for entrepreneurship was fostered. I am an alumnus of SUNY Oswego, SUNY Upstate Medical University & Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health.

I completed a Family Medicine Residency at the Georgetown-Washington Hospital Center Family Medicine program, receiving several awards for outstanding patient care and teaching Georgetown medical students. I was privileged to work as a Strategy Consultant at McKinsey & Company, helping Fortune 500 healthcare and life sciences companies solve complex business problems.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Haha, unfortunately, no, it hasn’t. I have overcome several challenges on my journey to becoming a physician and starting my private practice. In my third year of medical school, my grandmother was diagnosed with cancer, and that year involved fulfilling my clinical responsibilities during the day and studying for exams in her hospital room or at home in the evenings and on weekends.

Thankfully, I made it through that season and felt like I served her as I desired to. It taught me to be selfless and resilient. Although she is no longer with us, that season also set the standard for how I care for patients, caring for them as though they were my grandmother.

Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I would be honored to! RopheMD is a global concierge medicine private practice on a mission to keep millions thriving in excellent health until 100 years of age by providing Presidential-style comprehensive primary care and holistic health services.

At RopheMD, we are taking an integrative approach to caring for patients. One thing that sets us apart is the ability to integrate biblical/spiritual insights on health with evidence-based research. I am incredibly proud of the work that we are doing. We currently have three protocols developed for patients, and they are producing excellent results. The first protocol, the “Health Reboot” program, is preventing and reversing chronic disease. Amongst other success stories, one patient who had been on 64 units of insulin was able to come off his insulin and lose over 20 lbs within four weeks of working together.

Our second protocol, the “Crushing Cancer” protocol, is developed to provide a non-toxic approach to cancer treatment using lifestyle modalities. Finally, the “Pregnancy” protocol is developed to help prevent complications in pregnancy, which have primarily been shown to be prevalent in African-American women. In addition to the protocols, we also offer IV and IM vitamin therapy, including but not limited to Vitamin B12 and Vitamin C.

We are proud that at RopheMD, clients have personalized medical care, unlimited access to their physicians, same-day/next-day virtual appointments without long wait times, and a proactive, integrative approach.

What’s next?
In the near future, we are making the “Pregnancy” protocol available to the public.

Speaking more long term, we will have a comprehensive center that will enable clients to come into appointments in person and stay for periods to allow for their healing.
