Today we’d like to introduce you to Liliana Luna.

Liliana Luna

Thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I grew up in a small city in Nuevo León, Mexico, since a young age, I became interested in doing hair at 11, I started cutting my sister’s hair and stopped halfway because I got tired, my mom had to take her to a real hairdresser at 16, I did my first foil highlights on myself.

I did a decent job if I say so to myself, once I finished high school, I moved to the capital of my home state after working in an office I started beauty school because that has always been my passion since then, I did not stop doing hair, life brought me to the United States and I feel so fortunate to be able to still doing what I love, starting working at a small salon to opening my studio in Annapolis MD. My dream was to take classes in NYC and London dreams that became a reality.

My other dream was to have my salon and build a team with other passionate stylists this dream is a reality now too.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
There have been some challenges along the way, I had a partner who didn’t support my desire to take advanced classes and minimized my career, and understanding all the state requirements for new business is challenging as well, I’ve had to adapt to new cultures and a new language.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe you can tell us more about your work next?
I’m a hairstylist with over 20 years of experience, I specialize in color and hairstyles, and I’m known for color services as well as hair smoothing treatments.

I’m proud of my stubbornness once I think I can do something I’ll look for ways to achieve it it doesn’t matter if it takes me years to do it. I’m always looking for new and better things for my clients I try to listen and understand their desires and give them what they’re looking for.

So, before we go, how can our readers or others connect or collaborate with you? How can they support you?
