Today we’d like to introduce you to Reginald “EZ” Ward, Jr.

Reginald “EZ” Ward Jr

Hi Reginald, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today.
I’m Reginald EZ Ward, Jr, I grew up in Prince George’s County Maryland. My story begins in 3rd grade at Perry Wood Elementary, as I was given my own morning sports show to talk to my peers every week, from elementary school to middle school. By the time I was in high school, I was appointed the chaplain, praying before meetings with other students and becoming the go-to person for encouraging words. During this same time, I faced challenges of my own.

I was diagnosed with a speech impediment that hindered me from confidently speaking without stuttering. It was this same roadblock that became a stepping stone and ultimately changed the trajectory of my life. Being teased in elementary school gave me the determination to attend speech therapy sessions and find my voice. With persistence and drive, I realized that God had gifted me with this voice to motivate others through my own experiences and transformations.

My journey continued in 2014, as I had the opportunity to play college football during my freshman year at my alma mater North Carolina A&T State University. Unfortunately, I was released and invited to come back during my sophomore year, but I believed God had other plans for me. During that time, I struggled with depression, self-identity, and finding my footing as an 18-year-old kid. At every step of my life, impact has always been at the forefront of what I’ve wanted to have as a legacy wherever I go. Once my football career ended, I fixed my focus and immersed myself in all things leadership at my university.

I ran for student body president in my junior year but was not elected. However, I didn’t let that one stop from me trying again, I tried again in the fall of my senior year and ran for senior class president, and I won!! God works in mysterious ways, by winning senior class president I was allowed to give a speech at my commencement in front of 23,000 people.

After giving that speech, it’s amazing how life works because you can go from being on top one day and back to the bottom the next day. After my graduation, I enrolled at Georgetown University in the Sports Industry Management Program with an emphasis in Strategic Marketing, while working at Macy’s as a sales associate, and interning with the Washington Commanders. This season of my life was where I began to birth the many platforms I have today due to me realizing I had more purpose inside of me than what my current reality at the time showed.

In 2018, I started my podcast “Game of Faith” where the purpose was to share stories of young adults who were living for God while also being in tune with culture, overcoming adversity, and living in their God Given Purpose. That led to one of my best friends Cedric Moore and I starting Moore Faith, LLC in 2020 at the height of the coronavirus pandemic, we created this platform to give young adults the space to have candid conversations around Faith and ultimately give a voice to the voiceless.

Amid opposition, I believe your true character will ultimately be revealed. As an aspiring media mogul, I curate and create content with the hopes of inspiring, transforming, and ultimately empowering people to be the version of themselves.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
I wish I could say it’s been a smooth road, but it hasn’t. When you grow up being teased for stuttering but also having the boldness and courage to want to speak it’s the ultimate contradiction.

On one hand, you’re asking God why am I like this? But then on the other hand God is pushing you to be courageous and step out on Faith and trust the gift that you have inside of you. I’ve learned to let painful situations in my life be the catalyst and driving force to continue to press forward.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
At my core, I am a communicator. I specialize in all things public speaking, hosting, teaching, and facilitating impactful conversations. The attributes that set me apart from others are my practicality, relatability, empathy, and ability to meet my audience where they are.

I have a real joy and passion in helping people be confident and walk into fully who God has created them to be. I created this platform called “EZ Talks” in January 2024, and I created the platform with the intent to share practical insight and wisdom, but also give people the tools to not only be inspired, and transformed, but empowered to walk in their God-given purpose & destiny.

How do you define success?
When I think about success, I don’t define it by accolades or by material things because those things are fleeting. Success to me is living a life of purpose, waking up every morning and knowing why you are on Earth, and operating in that daily.

I strive to live a life of fulfillment through my purpose, if I’m operating in my God-given purpose then I will 100% feel and be successful not only in the world’s eyes but most importantly in God’s eyes.
