Check Out Will Sykes’ Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Will Sykes.

Will Sykes

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I co-founded Reliance Sports three years ago with my uncle Hasson and cousin Khalil; bringing the values of our family (transparency, consistency, trust, and dependability) to the sports industry.

Today, we represent over 30 athletes ranging from high school to professionals across several sports (basketball, football, baseball, boxing, track & field). We provide a multitude of services that include: Contract negotiations, Marketing deals, financial advisory, dietary needs, and physical training.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It has not been a smooth road, between constantly traveling, and competing with more established agencies when recruiting notable athletes has had its ups and downs.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I’ve built my resume up over the past decade to be in the position I am in now. I am a 2018 graduate of Bowie State University with my bachelor’s in Public Relations and a 2022 graduate of the University of Kansas with my master’s in Sports Management.

I also became a licensed NBA Agent in 2022 as well. I have over 7 years of relevant experience in contract negotiations, development, and editing. What separates me and Reliance Sports from others is that everything is done with authenticity and pure passion; it’s not only about a check for our business. We want to see our clients flourish.

If you had to, what characteristic of yours would you give the most credit to?
Transparency, consistency, reliability, and seeing the unseen.
