Hi Andeidra, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
After going through a really bad divorce I had to find an outlet to help forget the pain and so baking became my healing. I said I was going to turn my pain into passion. I took a 99-cent box of cake mix and turned it into Cupsey Cakesy! I did a party and the rest is history! Over 10 years later, here we are about to be a vendor in the first all-black-owned food hall in west Baltimore called the Mill on North.
We will provide amazing food options in what we all know is a food dessert. Giving back to my community is what I’ve always strived for and this is my second opportunity with the work I do with extraordinary birthdays providing birthday parties to children in homeless shelters.
Can you talk to us about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back, would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
With over 22 years in the catering business and 10 years in the baking business, the road hasn’t been easy and still isn’t. Trying to get funding and resources is impossible. I’ve funded this business with my own money.

Cupsey Cakesy specializes in baked goods and treats for all ages!
We provide vegan, sugar-free, gluten-free, and old southern favorites passed down from my grandmom and mommy. I have a degree in culinary arts. I’m proud to be able to serve my community and hope to continue serving them!
The crisis has affected us all in different ways. How has it affected you and any important lessons or epiphanies you can share with us?
I’ve learned covid has allowed me to learn so many different things ms helped me grow my business to the point I could quit working full-time. It was a scary time but allowed more time with your family and those closest to us!
