Check Out Nicole Alston’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Nicole Alston.

Nicole Alston

Hi Nicole, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today.
I started floral design last year (2022). I always had an innate love for flowers. I have a self-care routine that includes me buying myself flowers. I started putting flowers together from Trader Joe’s. Then, I took a floral design class at a local community college at night after my full-time job.

I started studying flowers, watching youtube, buying books, etc. I then started posting on Instagram and created a business page/website/videos of my designs. I also created my own logo and business commerce. I partnered with Door Dash last year so now I have an expansive platform and consumer base.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It has not been a smooth road. It’s been a lot of twists and turns and I am grateful for the journey. Finding my consumer base has been a bit of a struggle however with the help of the platforms I am on I can track down my core consumer base.

Marketing and videos as well are so different, however, I am forever a student and learning new and creative ways to be successful within my business.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I am a floral design artist. I specialize in floral arrangements. I specialize in special events, birthdays, parties, and brides. I am known for making things pretty and being the eucalyptus queen, lol. I am most proud of selling out for Mother’s Day for the second time this year.

What sets me apart from others is my willingness to always learn and try new things. I also am adaptive to change. I am completely flexible with changes even if it makes me uncomfortable.

What do you like and dislike about the city?
I like the range and culture that my city offers.
