Spring Taft’s upbringing and hardships she and her family endured due to poverty and lack of financial literacy, led Spring Taft to attend college and obtain a degree in Pre-Law and Business Administration, with a double minor in Foreign Affairs & Economics. With the wealth of knowledge she gained in college, Spring began a career in the mortgage industry, in which she has gained 10 years of experience. Spring’s primary goal is to holistically educate everyone about financial wealth through homeownership. Her experience has highlighted a critical need to educate home buyers about the entire homeownership process. Spring’s motto is: “Homeownership is a luxury ANYONE can access.” In September 2022, Spring opened Prestige Mortgage Lending Group LLC. As CEO and Senior Mortgage Broker, Spring is operating this female, minority owned business in the Baltimore, Maryland area.
All right, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story. Has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Opening this business has been rewarding yet challenging. This was definitely a dream of mine for a long time. After failing my licensure test, I was not sure if the dream would ever become my reality. I was working a full-time job, studying in my free time, and serving in the church. However, I got the courage and strength to keep pursuing my dreams. You never let the first no stop you. You keep pushing and believing in yourself to achieve the dream.

That’s how trust is established. You cannot have an on-again, off-again mentality when building a business or brand. People look for and expect consistency.
