Hidden Gems: Meet Kimmoly LaBoo of LaBoo Publishing Enterprise

Today we’d like to introduce you to Kimmoly LaBoo.

Hi Kimmoly, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I started my writing journey in 2006, writing my first book as a part of my healing journey. I never thought I would write more than one, but seventeen years, eighteen books, and a publishing company later, here we are. It seems God had a plan much bigger than mine.

After publishing several books, I began to host writing bootcamps to help other aspiring authors. In 2016, I made a courageous move to the island of Oahu, Hawaii. It was there, God gave me the vision of starting my own publishing company. Since then, I have moved myself and my company back to Maryland and we have published over 400 authors. This year, we celebrated our fifth anniversary.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
I don’t believe any business travels a smooth road. There is always something new, exciting, and challenging along the way.

In the beginning, our biggest challenge was dealing with time zone differences, since many clients lived on what we called “the mainland.” Moving back to Maryland made the business a lot easier to navigate and provided more opportunities to network.

Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about LaBoo Publishing Enterprise?
LaBoo Publishing Enterprise is a book publishing company that caters to first-time authors providing expert guidance and unlimited support. We provide solutions to meet the aspiring author’s individual goals. We offer affordable and easy Self-Publishing, taking our authors from concept to completion.

When a client signs up with LaBoo Publishing Enterprise, they become part of our family. We pride ourselves on creating an environment where our authors don’t feel neglected during or after the process. We provide ongoing support and additional opportunities for them to excel as published authors.

We also host an annual writer’s retreat, which allows many of our authors the opportunity to meet like-minded individuals and gain new skills and strategies regarding writing and publishing.

So maybe we end by discussing what matters most to you and why?
As it pertains to my business, it matters to me how our clients feel about their experience of becoming published authors. I want them to feel supported. I want them to know that their words, their story, and or their business, matters. The publishing process can feel overwhelming. Many will quit before they even get started because they feel confused and don’t know where to begin. I love coaching individuals through the process who feel that way, allowing them to see the value in what they bring to the table.

Every time I see our clients hold their book in hand for the first time, whether it be on social media, or in person, it reminds me of why we began this business. I know as a company, we are unique, we do a lot more handholding through the process than other companies ever will, but that is the beauty behind our business, we want to show those who think they can’t, that they can.
