Hi Shelby, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I started my business BonaFideBabe LLC as a fashion boutique made to empower women of all shapes, sizes, and styles to feel confident and be authentically them.
However, as time went on, I started to explore different fields of entrepreneurship such as marketing, graphic design, influencing, modeling, and social media management, while also maintaining a strong passion for fashion & styling.
So now, I promote myself, as well as my business to be a multi-purpose creative platform/business that provides a variety of creative services and has helped multiple businesses and organizations bring their visions to life.
I love the mission of creating a community, and growing personally, as well as professionally, and pray for continued growth!
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Absolutely not, I’ve failed a lot of times. My boutique didn’t make more than I was spending. Dropshipping was unreliable for the service I was trying to provide.
I have rebranded like 20 times trying to find myself and be authentic to myself. I have to resist the urge to give up and find another job or purpose, when it gets challenging, or when people don’t necessarily see or support the vision.
I struggle even now with comparison & feeling stuck but praying has helped with that.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I am a mom, a wife, an influencer, and an entrepreneur. I’d like to say my passion is content creation that encourages my community and empowers new moms, people of faith and even not of faith, people newly married, and entrepreneurs to be successful and be themselves in the process.
As I mentioned before, I promote myself, as well as my business to be a multi-purpose creative platform/business that provides a variety of creative services such as marketing, graphic design, influencing, modeling and social media management, & styling.
Can you talk to us a bit about the role of luck?
I wouldn’t say I base my life on luck. It’s God & the faith that has gotten me to where I am today & will continue to push me.
