Today we’d like to introduce you to Kelley Arnold.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
My name is Kelley Arnold owner of Doggilicious Doughnuts K9 Bakery. I have two rescued fur babies Ford, my 11-year-old pit bull, and Winston, my two-year-old French bulldog.
I have been a veterinary technician for 12 years and have always had a passion to help pets in any way I could. I initially began baking for my first rescue dog who had severe allergies to most ingredients found in store-bought treats. That is when my passion for baking and DOGS came together into the business I have today.
I knew I wanted my treats to be different from the rest. Treats that were softer, not dried out, or full of preservatives.
I began baking doughnut treats that were soft so that the little pups or older senior pups could all still enjoy them.
My goal is to provide fun treats that are delicious, healthy, and with limited ingredients. Treats that have our best friends’ tails wagging and begging for another bite.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
I continue to learn more and more as the days go by, but I would say my biggest struggle was learning how to start marketing and using my social media platform to begin building my brand and mission.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I have been a Veterinary Technician for 12 years. I have had a love and passion for our furry best friends since I was a little girl. This passion soon expanded and grew into the dog treat business I have today.
Working in this field I always heard firsthand of dog treats being recalled. I knew using this knowledge and having an understanding of what pets love this is how my treats would be different from the rest.
The crisis has affected us all in different ways. How has it affected you and any important lessons or epiphanies you can share with us?
During Covid markets and events stopped. I had to get creative about how I could get my business and treats out to the pets. That is when I really started focusing on deliveries. This ended up working great and is something I still offer today.
